In 2022-23, social learning and collaboration jumped near the top of Donald Taylor's Global Sentiment Survey again. This is no surprise given the renewed focus on new ways of working during the COVID-19 pandemic. The modern work environment requires a shift to social first approaches yet our very organizational systems and design can hinder connection and collaboration! How do you support efforts to change the rules people operate under and where do you start? L&D, technology, and leadership all have a role to play, but they might not be what you've been told or come to expect. In this session, you’ll learn the importance of approaching performance challenges with a social first mindset, examine the required shift from content creation to conversation creation, and the challenges faced when moving from instructional design to organizational social design.

In this session you will learn:

  • How a social-centered learning function benefits L&D, the organization, and can empower your enterprise social technology.
  • To isolate the specific elements of organizational design that indirectly influence social behaviors.
  • To leverage a catalytic mechanisms approach to enhance your organizations design and make it more conducive for social connection
